FESTIVALS IN KONYA
Hello our precious readers, as you know before traveling, Everybody should take a look at the activities organized in the city they visit then they can both get different experiences and make your trip more enjoyable. For that reason, in this monthly blog, we will tell you about some festivals in Konya. You can find the list of events organized in Konya below. Let’s start :)
2)Nasreddin Hoca Festival
Nasreddin Hoca, one of the symbols of Konya, has been one of the names that attract the attention of all ages with his anecdotes. It is held every year between 5-10 July in Akşehir, where Nasrettin Hoca was born. In the festivals, jokes are told, concerts theatre plays and events are organized and Nasreddin Hoca is commemorated with stories.
3)White Cherry Festival
Competitions, exhibitions, and shows are organized at the White Cherry Festival, which is held every year in the first week of July in the Ereğli. Ninety percent of white cherry production in Turkey is met from Ereğli and white cherry is a fruit with very little production in the world. If you come to Konya in July, you can taste this delicious fruit and have fun at the festival.
4)“Bir Nefes Bir Ses” International Theatre Festival
The festival, which is organized every year in Konya by the General Directorate of State Theaters, is worth seeing. The festival, where important theater groups from both Turkey and the world come together and show their performances, also contributes to the cultural development of Konya.
5)Karatay Lavender Festival
The Lavender Festival, which is held in July every year, took place for the first time on July 16-17 in 2022. Lavender Days showed everyone the beauty of lavender with its events. In the activity areas just opposite the lavender garden, there were lavender products, stage shows, sales stands, special playgrounds for children and catering places.
6)Konya Science Festival
Konya Science Festival is held in the Konya Science Center building for 4 days on 26-29 October. Workshops on different topics and themes, fun science shows, simulations and many other activities are held at the festival. Festival is planned with the participation of school groups on weekdays and visitors of all ages from 7 to 70 on weekends. The activities at the festival aim to increase the interest of children and young people in science and provide information about artificial intelligence, technology and science.
