KÖROĞLU FESTIVAL

Retired lecturer Prof. made a speech on behalf of all academics. Dr. Saim Sakaoğlu gave information to the participants about the research and publications made for Köroğlu. Azerbaijani Deputy Ganire Paşayeva said that she was very proud to be invited and participate in such a meaningful festival. Stating that it is a special happiness to be in Köroğlu's hometown, Paşayeva said, 'Köroğlu is also a great hero in the Turkic Republics. That's why organizing such a festival in his own place is a big event. "Hopefully, together we will succeed in adding Köroğlu to UNESCO's Cultural Heritage List," he said. Bolu Mayor Alaaddin Yılmaz said in his speech, 'Bolu is the land of Köroğlu. Bolu is the most magnificent geography in the world where four seasons can be experienced to the fullest. Our main goal is to make our city a brand. In this, we will benefit from Köroğlu, the common hero of the Turkish world. In this way, we will create bridges with the Turkish world. We, as people from Bolu, know Köroğlu as ours. Köroğlu's paintings display our emblems. His statue is a separate symbol in the municipal square. But other than that, we have not had any great ownership so far. When we said we would hold the Köroğlu Festival, we were surprised to see the excitement in our meetings with the ambassadors of the Turkic republics. "With the enthusiasm and excitement we received from them, we learned that this festival is very important after making this decision," he said. İzzet Baysal Foundation President Ahmet Baysal said that Köroğlu was a folk hero who always stood against cruelty and oppression, and thanked those who contributed to the organization of such a beautiful program. Later in the program, Bolu Donors Foundation President Şerafettin Erbayram, who compiled the declarations of the 3rd Köroğlu Symposium into a book, presented these books to six university students as a representative. Deputy Governor Mutsa Kemal Keskin mentioned that Bolu has many cultural riches, one more than the other, and said, 'Bolu is one of the leading provinces in our country with its geographical location, natural riches as well as cultural richness. This geography, where geniuses with important traces in Turkish culture and thought life such as Akşemsettin, Davud-i Halveti, İshak Bin Murad, Poet Dertli, Aşık Figani, grew up, stretches from China, Afghanistan to Armenia, from Turkmenistan to Iran, from Siberia to "It also has the privilege of raising epic heroes like Köroğlu, who spread across the Balkans and found a wide cultural base," he said. Stating that Köroğlu is the center of attention not only of Turkish scientists but also of scientists from other nations, Deputy Governor Keskin said, 'Köroğlu has become an international figure with the publication of many books and articles. The seminars and symposiums held to date are clear evidence of the interest shown by academicians and the people of Bolu to Köroğlu. It should be our primary duty to strive to make new generations more familiar with the historical personality of Köroğlu, the epic hero, not only in Anatolia but in all Turkish Republics, through festivals and symposiums. "For this reason, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the realization of the symposium," he said. Following the speeches, a "Bolu Folk Songs" concert was organized by Bolu Municipality Painter Mehmet Yücetürk Art Center Turkish Folk Music Ensemble. After the concert, the winners of the Köroğlu-themed sculpture and painting competition were presented with their awards and the exhibition hall containing the works was visited

SEBEN APPLE FESTİVAL

Since Seben's most important source of income and livelihood is fruit growing and animal husbandry, Apple Festival, Harvest Festival and Animal and Commodity Fair are held in the district every October. Within the scope of the festival, a ceremony and the most beautiful apple competition are held, and artists give a concert in the evening. The Festival, which features colorful images, attracts many visitors from the region and surrounding provinces and districts. Seben Fair, which also includes the apple festival, usually lasts around a week - 10 days. As part of the fair, shopping is revitalized by setting up fixed stalls in the market place, and children and young people have fun with the amusement park. Especially for the young people who lived in the villages until 10-15 years ago, the Fair after the harvest meant buying new clothes, getting rid of the monotonous village life and breathing a different air, even if for a short time.
